Galal Zakri, a young man studying Mass Communication, and dreams of travelling around the world by a nonconventional means. He decided to conquer all fears and obstacles and become the first Egyptian to travel around the world and climb the highest summits in each continent on his bicycle.
Galal’s first trip was from Cairo to Suez, travelling 80 Kilometers on foot. Although the distance was long and tiring, Galal enjoyed it immensely, and that encouraged him to further explore other methods in travelling that were not very familiar to people.
In 2011, Galal decided to set off on one of his trips to Ain Sokhna on a bicycle; a decision that was met with disapproval from his family due to the unstable security conditions in the country at that time, coupled with the fact that he did not own a bicycle, which almost made the trip impossible. Not one to be hindered by anything, and believing that you meet your destiny wherever you go, Galal rented a bicycle and went on his 100 km trip.
On the next year, he managed to take w bigger leap, starting a 400 km trip from Cairo to Nuweiba; a rather difficult trip full of obstacles and hardships, however conquered by the kindness and support shown to him by the people he met on his way. Seeing that, Galal was determined to spread a message of love and peace between Egyptians, and made it his mission to show the whole world the beauty of Egypt and all its cities.
As Galal’s success grew, his family became more encouraging and supportive of his dreams and ideas. Also, this success granted him sponsorship from 4 different companies and both the ministries of Youth and Tourism in an initiative to support him, which helped him to travel around Egypt, then all over Africa.
In July 2016, Galal succeeded in climbing the highest summit in Africa on his bicycle, conquering all physical, personal and climate challenges. Consequently, Galal managed to collect donations that helped in roofing 240 houses in Upper Egypt.
Galal dreams that one day he would travel on his bicycle to all the Arab countries then all over the world, in order to spread the message of peace between Egypt and the world.
